Trusted firms and resources across will writing, probate, care home fee planning and estate services. Recommended partners from Will Writing London.
Will Writing London serves every borough and neighbourhood within Greater London, and we are proud of the depth of our local coverage. However, we regularly speak with enquirers who live elsewhere in the country β often people whose relatives or friends in London have recommended us, or who have seen our name and wondered whether we operate in their area. Equally, within our own practice we routinely encounter situations that call for specialist input beyond pure will drafting: complex probate matters, property held within estates, care home fee planning, or technical trust work. For all of these, we maintain a network of trusted firms and resources whose standards we know well.
The listings below are organised into two groups. The first group covers specialist firms and resources that focus on particular areas of estate planning, probate and related matters, useful to clients whatever part of the UK they live in. The second group covers regional will writing partners we recommend to clients outside Greater London β particularly in Yorkshire, where we have strong professional relationships.
We do not receive referral fees from any of these firms. The recommendation is a professional one, made because we would rather see clients and enquirers receive good service from a trusted specialist than struggle with a provider less suited to their needs.
One of the biggest concerns for families planning later-life care is the prospect of care home fees eroding a lifetime of savings. Care Home Fees provides focused guidance on protecting assets from means-tested care costs, including property trusts, gifting strategies and the practical realities of the local authority financial assessment process. This is specialist territory where general will writing firms often skim the surface; for families with significant concerns about care fees, a focused conversation with specialists in this area can be genuinely valuable. Visit carehomefees.co.uk for more information.
DPS Wills and Probate offers comprehensive will writing and probate support services. For clients who need help both with drafting a will and with navigating the probate process after a relative dies, having a firm that handles both under one roof brings real continuity. Their approach emphasises clear fixed fees, detailed client meetings and careful attention to the administrative and emotional realities of estate administration. See dpswillsandprobate.co.uk for the full range of services.
For clients with more complex estate planning needs β trusts, business interests, inheritance tax mitigation, or intergenerational wealth planning β Phoenix Estate Planning provides specialist technical advice. Estate planning at this level requires a practitioner who understands not just the mechanics of wills and trusts but the interaction with tax law, pensions, life assurance and business succession. Their website at phoenixestateplanning.co.uk sets out their approach in detail.
When a loved one dies and the estate includes property, the practical tasks of clearing, preparing, valuing and selling can feel overwhelming for executors who are already grieving. Probate Property specialises in exactly this situation β guiding executors through the property element of probate with expertise and sensitivity. If you are an executor dealing with a house sale as part of estate administration, their resources and services at probate-property.co.uk are well worth reviewing.
For executors and family members wanting to understand the probate process before deciding how to proceed, Probate Tips and Advice provides practical, plain-English guidance covering the common questions and pitfalls. Topics include when probate is required, the grant of probate application process, dealing with HMRC and inheritance tax, administering estates where a will exists, and what to do when there is no will. An excellent first stop for those at the beginning of the journey β see probatetips.co.uk.
Trustmark Law offers specialist legal services including trust administration, estate planning and related matters. For situations where a solicitor-led approach is specifically required β contested estates, complex trust establishment, or matters involving overseas elements β a firm with appropriate legal credentials is the right port of call. Their services are outlined at trustmarklaw.co.uk.
For consumers wanting to understand more about the will writing industry, how to choose a provider, what questions to ask, and how to distinguish qualified firms from less reputable operators, Will Writers Portal is a useful public-facing resource. Educational materials, guidance articles and directory listings make it a good starting point for those doing their research before committing to any single firm. Visit willwritersportal.co.uk.
Wills and Probate provides general guidance, resources and services across the wills and probate space. Broader in remit than many specialist firms, this is a useful destination for consumers wanting to understand the end-to-end lifecycle β from initially writing a will, through periodic review, to eventual probate and estate administration after death. See willsprobate.co.uk for further information.
For clients and enquirers outside Greater London, the following firms cover specific regions of the country with the same professional standards we apply to our own work. Each offers dedicated local expertise that matters particularly for home visits, local property knowledge and understanding of regional demographics.

Estate planning is an intimate, detailed and important piece of work. It requires a writer who listens carefully, drafts precisely, and follows up reliably. While many firms offer will writing and related services, not all approach the work with the same level of care. When we recommend partner firms and resources, we do so knowing that the standards are comparable to our own β the client experience will be professional, the fees will be fair and transparent, and the documents produced will be fit for purpose.
If you live outside London and none of the regional partners above covers your area, please do get in touch anyway. We maintain an informal network of contacts with will writing professionals across the UK and are usually able to point enquirers in a helpful direction. There is no charge for this β we simply prefer to see people receiving good service, wherever they live.
Whoever you choose to write your will β whether one of our recommended partners or an entirely different firm β we would always encourage you to do a little basic due diligence before committing. Ask about the writer's qualifications. Ask about their professional indemnity insurance. Ask for a written fixed-fee quotation before any work is done. Ask how your original document will be stored and whether storage is included. These are reasonable questions that any properly set-up firm will answer without hesitation. If a firm is cagey about any of these basics, that is a red flag.
Equally, be wary of unusually low prices. Writing a will properly takes time β typically at least an hour for the initial instruction, a further hour or more for drafting, and another meeting for signing. Firms offering wills for twenty or thirty pounds are often using rigid templates that cannot accommodate anything beyond the simplest situations. For most Londoners with property, pensions and family, a template will is not worth the paper it is printed on.
Whatever your circumstances, if you live in Greater London we would be delighted to help you directly. Call 0330 223 7844, email info@willwritinglondon.co.uk, or complete the form on our contact page. There is no charge for an initial conversation and no obligation to proceed.
